Philanthropy in Delta Gamma

Our Philanthropy Mission

As DGs, we make a commitment at our initiation to participate in the philanthropic goals, in support of the high ideals set forth by our founders. We take this commitment seriously, and in the Zeta Phi chapter we work hard to integrate philanthropy into our chapter activities, and many of our most anticipated events revolve around the hands-on application of our motto: "Do good."

Our Foundation: Service for Sight

While all DGs are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of volunteer service activities, the main focus of Delta Gamma's philanthropy is in preventing and curing vision problems. Since we adopted this cause in 1936 with the creation of our official foundation, Service for Sight, Delta Gammas from every chapter have taken part in activities raising money to aid in research and help those in need, increasing awareness about the plight of people with vision impairments, and volunteering for services that aid the blind and vision impaired directly.

This inspiring video, produced by the national Delta Gamma Philanthropy, explains more about the motivation for our Service for Sight work. For more Delta Gamma videos on YouTube, check out the TVDeeGee YouTube channel.
